We are sad to share that BTRC alum Swagger has passed away.

BTRC alum? Yes! This 70-pound boy was part Boston Terrier. We know this for certain because he was born in rescue to Lilo, a Boston Terrier who came to us heavily pregnant from a Quebec shelter. Swagger was actually the runt of the litter, about half the size of his siblings.

As for his dad, Lilo wasn’t talking, but DNA testing revealed Swagger was a mix of Boston Terrier and Rhodesian Ridgeback, with a hint of Newfoundlander (although he did not inherit a love of the water, as Swagger was convinced he would melt if forced to go outside in the rain!).

The best word to describe Swagger is happy. Even at 11 years of age, he never stopped being a goofy puppy. Swag just loved life, and the people in it. Everyone at BTRC sends heartfelt condolences to Swagger’s family. You were one-in-a-million Swagger, much loved, forever missed but never to be forgotten. 🌈
