Bimbo is home!

Bimbo is looking quite cozy…and that’s because he is in his forever home! Bimbo didn’t have to travel far for this photo though – just from his bed to the couch – because his foster family has adopted him!

When we asked Bimbo how he was feeling, he said, “I knew I was home the second I walked through those doors.” Congratulations to Bimbo’s family, including his BT sister, Rosie. We couldn’t be happier for this happily-ever-after.

Bimbo has a bounce back in his step!

Bimbo has recovered from his luxating patella surgery and is taking advantage of the beautiful weather. Unlike many Bostons, Bimbo is a very polite walker and his foster mom has to keep looking down to make sure he is still walking beside her! It seems like Bimbo did not inherit the Boston Terrier “pull hard, play hard,” mentality!

Life for Bimbo is about long walks, long naps and long bouts of sunbathing. He still barks when left alone, but he eventually settles. Bimbo is described as a sweet and sensitive boy who is very attuned to people’s feelings. His foster mom describes him as a little shadow and though he has full run of the house, he likes to be wherever the humans are. Bimbo is very smart and food motivated so he has learned many new commands.

Since his surgery, Bimbo has experienced diarrhea, so we are investigating what the cause might be. Currently, he is taking probiotics and medication to help settle his stomach and firm up his poops, which seems to be helping. The only thing Bimbo wants to be runny are his legs! 🐾

Nothing will stop Bimbo from going on his daily stroll!

Bimbo’s foster mom noticed that he was lifting his back leg when using the stairs, so he was referred to a specialist. It was determined that Bimbo had bilateral luxating patella and his left knee required surgery. His right leg is low grade so at present no other medical intervention is required.

Well, Bimbo would like everyone to know that he is doing great after his surgery! Bimbo loves to snuggle, so he is enjoying the post-surgery attention he is getting. He thought having surgery meant he couldn’t go on daily walks, but his dog stroller has come in handy! Now he can enjoy the fresh air and beautiful sights he’s used to while sitting back and letting his knee heal.

Though he must take his recovery slowly, his never-give-up attitude makes us think he will be back to walking in no time!

Super Pup is out of surgery!

We are happy to report that Bimbo is recovering well from his neuter. He argued that the cone was putting a damper on his style, so he convinced his foster mom to purchase a surgery suit instead. He chose the blue and red one and, to accessorize, he added a cape. We must admit, Bimbo wears his “costume” well!

So far, life has been fun for Bimbo in his foster home. He loves playing and snuggling with his BT foster sibling and he gets along with the resident cat (well, if “gets along” means ignoring each other 😹). You will often find him laying by the fire with both of his fur siblings as they share in the warmth and bliss of quiet evenings at home.

Bimbo has displayed some separation anxiety, so his foster mom has been working with a trainer. The training looks to be working as Bimbo is slowly learning to trust that his foster family will indeed be coming home. ❤

A big welcome to our new buddy, Bimbo!

Bimbo is an intact 3-year-old male. As you can see, he is as cute as a button and his curly tail adds to his unique charm! So far, what we know about Bimbo is that he is a sweet and sensitive fella, he gets along with dogs and he enjoys car rides.

Bimbo has a dental and neuter coming up and his foster mom will be working with him on his crate and potty training. But before all the formalities begin, we are giving him time to settle in and decompress.
